Summary: In Jocelyn’s words: “I hated our destination wedding photographer and our digital wedding cameras saved us from ending up with terrible wedding pictures. Thanks to our digital wedding cameras, we had a huge variety of beach wedding pictures...many of which were better than the destination wedding photographer’s!”

Jocelyn got married in Hawaii. She paid $495 for 1307 destination wedding pictures. Here's her story in her words:
"Planning a destination
wedding (Hawaii) had some challenges. The
biggest and most disappointing challenge we
faced out turned out to be the destination
wedding photographer. The resort gave me two
choices and I couldn't
see any differences in their destination wedding
photography styles.
We ended-up choosing the destination wedding photographer who
would give us the most hours of photography. We
hoped that more hours meant that the destination
wedding photographer would get photos of us
getting ready, the wedding, and the reception;
i.e. not just from the wedding ceremony.
Unfortunately, the destination
wedding photographer was the single most
expensive item for the wedding and the most
disappointing. He never took any "getting ready"
pictures, the lighting was all wrong for the
beach wedding photography and he wanted to leave
early and miss the hula show we arranged. When I
saw the results of our "professional"
destination wedding photography we had spent
thousands on, I almost cried. The pictures were
so boring and unoriginal. Thankfully we had handed out
digital wedding cameras to each family attending
the wedding. Over the course of the week they
took pictures of all of their outings and all of
the events they attended. At the end
of the week we had an amazing collection of
photos. Our families managed to capture all of
the special moments during the week and many of
their photos were better than the professional
photographer's pictures.
Another interesting outcome of the digital wedding cameras was how each camera
had a different perspective on the wedding. Our families took them to the
outings we planned and so they were able to capture moments that were important
to them as well. The wedding was about bringing to families together and once
our
beach wedding photography website was created, we could see that it had.
In short, the digital wedding
cameras gave us:
- Different perspectives on the wedding that a destination wedding photographer never could
- Captured a destination wedding (week-long trip) in a way that a destination wedding photographer never could
- Made the wedding photos accessible to everyone so no one missed out on a picture and everyone could share their experiences
- Personalized the destination wedding in a way that was easy and cost effective
- Entertained the guests. Our guests loved being included in the wedding and the digital wedding cameras were an easy way to do this
- Took the pressure off of me to share our wedding pictures. The website enabled everyone to see all the pics for free
- We ended up with far more wedding pictures that we would have with just a destination wedding photographer
I hated our destination wedding photographer and our digital wedding cameras saved us from ending up with terrible wedding pictures. Instead we had a huge variety and most were better than the destination wedding photographer’s!”
